We are celebrating our 150th anniversary this year and are also allowing social organisations and institutions to take part. The motto alternating between Hückeswagen and Moers, our two main locations, is "150 times ten euros". 

This month, we are supporting Caritasverband Moers-Xanten e.V. with a total of 150 warm meals to benefit people in need in Moers. "We are very pleased about the support and donation on the occasion of your 150th company anniversary. The demand from visitors for the donated meals has been very high since day one and has been gratefully received," said Mr Nick from Caritasverband Moers-Xanten e.V. at the official handover, which was taken over by Dr Jörg Koßmann from our management team. We would also like to thank the Caritas "Meals on Wheels" department, which spontaneously and unbureaucratically provided the meals at cost price after our donation project became known, so that a significantly higher number of meals will ultimately be available.

Since June 2023, the Caritas association in Moers city centre has also made it possible for all homeless people to not only protect themselves from extreme weather conditions in a pleasant and quiet atmosphere, but also to take advantage of counselling and meeting opportunities on site. For example, a trained Caritas employee is available during the week to provide advice and support. By using internal and external networking structures, further established support measures can be initiated, including debt counselling, addiction and drug counselling and much more.

Mr Nick also informed us that Sparkasse Niederrhein provide rooms where those people can do their laundry, have access to the internet, charge their mobile phones, use the sanitary facilities or enjoy a warm cup of coffee undisturbed - so everyday things that we take for granted. In return, the visitors participate in the design of the premises and thus actively contribute to the successful development of the project.

In May, Hückeswagen will once again be handing over the donations, so stay tuned.
