Durable and efficient
Enhanced Requirements on Doctor Blades
In the most recent Clouth:Ticker we already have introduced to you the Durada®-DT blade out of the thermoplastic field.
With the novelty Durada®-DT we have taken account to meet the higher requirements in today’s paper production process. These requirements result from the increased proportions of sticky substances in the wastepaper used.
To work against this issue, the papermaker often is forced to make us of steel or standard abrasive blades in the dryer section. However, the risk then is that in the surface cleaning sparks could be generated that lead to a local fire.
By the use of the Durada®-DT blade it is ensured that no sticky substances adhere to the cylinder surface and that despite an intensive cleaning efficiency the formation of sparks can almost be ruled out. It is, however, important to apply this blade material on cylinder surfaces which have been cleaned afore.
Durable and Efficient
The Clouth®-MT-PCS blade is made from fibreglass fabrics with a special epoxy resin system plus a friction-modified filler out of microparticles. Exactly these additives are the secret of the very positive results achieved with the Clouth®-MT-PCS. In its application, in the long run by the abrasion from the blade a passivation on the cylinder surface gets achieved which avoids a settlement of particles on the surface.
In this, the blade works at a very low contact pressure level and with an abrading filler. Thus, it saves energy and is very durable at unchanging good cleaning results. To that effect, the finished product convinces thanks to its quality.
The Perfect Pairing
The two blade materials (Durada®-DT and Clouth®-MT-PCS) are suitable for a combined use in double doctoring systems in order to amalgamate their benefits.
