Clouth Cleaning Systems, Advice and Service Directly on the Spot
After having visited our Finish colleague Janne Nurmi, Clouth continues its international journey, this time to Canada. There, as well, Clouth relies on an experienced expert to offer our customers the best possible service on the spot and to establish the company more widely.
Markus Müller is our man in Canada.
With his portrait, we continue the series on our colleagues deployed abroad to demonstrate the perspectives the Clouth Group can offer.
Canada, on a global scale, is one of the biggest producers of paper, cellulose and cardboard. Thus, in Canada doctor blades, doctor holders or complete cleaning systems made by the Clouth Group are in use in many places in the manufacturing sector – and these products exactly are Markus Müller’s profession.
But what brought him to Canada?
About 13 years ago, a customer – with regards to a major order to be realised in Canada – needed special support and a local service which was taken over by Markus Müller. He went there for several times to supervise the on-site takeover and to train the company’s staff in the handling of the Clouth products. The stay originally had been planned for the period of one year, however, the process all in all took four years. For this reason, Markus Müller often and for longer periods travelled to Canada, sometimes accompanied by his wife Piroska. Together they experienced this exciting country and when it became foreseeable that the commitment would take more than twelve months, ‘living in Canada temporarily’ developed to ‘shouldn’t we move here generally?’.
They found a perfect site on Vancouver Island where they feel fine and at home. From there, he provides service to Clouth customers on the North American continent and, upon request, in Central or South America as well.
Canada – Dreamland with Woodlands, Lakes and Bears
For Markus Müller work is fun! But even more important for him is that the ‘total package’ is just right. <<After all these years, what I still like best are the Canadian landscape and the sheer size of the country – it really is indescribable what the nature has to offer!>> he enthuses. <<For one thing the view of the ocean and then again the snow-covered mountains in the background…>> This mix makes it easy for the Müller couple to stand to their decision.
As is known, the Canadians are cosmopolitans, one promptly feels well received. They love ice hockey, fishing and hunting and one does not instantaneously lose coolness just because of a bear which Markus Müller had to experience himself when being called to a shutdown to help solving a problem. After having done the job, it was an unhurried black bear hogging the company site having a good time. Markus Müller and the other staff hat to wait till the ‘beastly colleague’ set out again. Only then, the order was ‘mission accomplished’.
Such a peculiar anecdote, however, rather belongs to the more exceptional adventures in our colleagues’ everyday life. Or maybe not? We are excited to hear what our other colleagues will tell us. Next time we will travel to the United Kingdom.
