Fibreglass-reinforced composite systems have a relatively low elasticity modulus compared to other reinforcing fibres. Their advantage is a high breaking elongation and elastic energy absorption combined with excellent resistance to chemical corrosion. Doctor blades made from this material are employed in areas with higher levels of mechanical loading.
