Coated Coater Blades and Creping Blades

In order to increase the life of coater blades and creping blades, the blade tips are coated with a wear-protection layer. Ceramic layers and metal-ceramic composites (cermets) are used for this.
Different layer and wear characteristics, such as hardness and material removal, depending on the customer’s specific application are required. Accordingly, our CERADIA® product range offers a broad spectrum of possible coating types so that our application technicians are able to develop a product ideally suited for each individual customer.
Coater Blades
A good coating blade is essential for the production of coated paper in order to achieve consistent and even application of the coating colour. A high-quality coater blade performs at high production speeds under high shear forces with abrasive coating mediums and provides a long life and maximum productivity.

Creping Blades
A good creping blade performs two key tasks: On the one hand it reaches the longest possible lifetime and thus provides the maximum productivity. On the other hand it improves the tissue quality.

For this, in addition to our V-Guard web-based vibration monitoring system and the low-vibration Galeno creping doctor system, we also offer service and maintenance of doctor holders.
